Failure.
Regret often brings uncomfortable contact with the self.
To process regret is to emotionally tolerate that failure may have occurred.
Working through the feelings that come with regret is to swim in the gap between how you see yourself and the choices that you made.
Consider:
You characterize yourself as honest, yet you intentionally left out information.
You see yourself as a good decision maker, yet you made choices that ignored red flags.
Facing–perhaps one day accepting–humanity gaps is the work of regret.
