Family Boundaries: Journal Prompt 10

Values.

A value is something you deem important. When a value (something important to you) is active in your life, it can bring meaning and motivation. Setting boundaries with family is easier when you have a clear understanding of your values.

Consider the following examples.

Perhaps it is important for you to set boundaries in your family for your emotional safety.

Or, if you experienced a significant imbalance in power in your family, it may be important for you to have a voice, a sense of power.

Even the value of tradition can bring meaning and willingness to spend time with those who are difficult.
