
Grieve.
Setting boundaries with family can be an emotional experience, similar to grief.
Boundaries help you maintain a healthy distance from someone you might otherwise prefer to be close to. But because of wounds, choices, and patterns, boundaries became necessary.
While boundaries become necessary for wellness, they tend to leave gaps that need to be acknowledged and grieved.
