Anger.
Relationships need a way to deal with anger.
The normal specimens for managing anger are:
Avoid it.
Or
Blast it.
Avoid it, disappear in the relationship, put up walls, and work hard to build up bricks of resentment.
Blast it, emotionally explode, speak outside of your value system, or find regret in your actions.
While both ‘deal’ with anger, they deal with it from a dysregulated place. Instead, we owe our relationships the space to deal with anger from a regulated—calm—place.
