Big Decisions: Journal Prompt 3

Fear is a barrier to making big decisions. There is reasonable fear, the fear that tells you it’s not a great idea to walk a tight rope, 30 feet in the air, without training and a rope. This fear keeps you physically safe and is reasonable. You want to hear and respect this type of fear.

Rather, I am talking about the fear that is exaggerated. The fear that keeps you stagnant. A boat without an oar. Stranded.

The fear that keeps you from ending a relationship because you will be alone. Alone feels scary and less familiar. Turn down the volume of this type of fear. The fear that keeps you from trying something new because new is new and that’s a lot of new. The fear that keeps you from taking reasonable risks that will increase the quality of your life and remind you how to be curious again. Turn the dial. Turn down the volume of this type of fear.
